After more than a year of investigations, Alec Baldwin was charged by the United States judiciary with the murder of the cameraman rust, Hiat Hutchins. According to documents Deadline had access to, he and gunsmith Hannan GutierrezReed acted in a careless. In addition, the actor refused to undergo the necessary training and pointed the gun at people on the set, which was never supposed to happen.
Baldwin’s indictment reads:
“On the day of the incident, evidence showed that a dozen acts or recklessness took place in a short space of time between lunch and the time of the shooting, and this does not include Baldwin’s reckless use of a firearm. Baldwin, by inaction or failure to act in accordance with his position as producer, has directly contributed to and failed to mitigate numerous reckless and dangerous acts in a short span of time.”
“After all, industry standards, protocols and common firearm safety procedures on a film set require that a gunsmith conduct an initial safety test with the assistant director and a second with the actor. This reckless breach of standards happened twice, resulting in filming, and Baldwin failed to mitigate or correct the safety violations, both in his role as an actor and as a producer.”
Investigator Robert Shilling’s document confirms the actor’s reckless actions:
“Failure to comply with practice standards and protocols directly caused the fatal discharge. Baldwin acted recklessly and more than negligently in the incident. Baldwin acted with complete disregard for the safety of others and in a manner that endangered others, and he should have been aware of the danger his actions led to Hutchins’ deaths. Also, Baldwin used the gun recklessly.”
Filming took place in Santa Fe on October 21, 2021 during filming rust. Although the actor had said several times that he did not pull the trigger, the examination indicated the gun was intact and functional and would never have been fired without someone doing it. A request is being listened to 60 days jury and if they believe there is enough evidence, a trial takes place a few days later.
The actor is convicted of two offenses: the first is a fourthdegree felony (fourthdegree felony in free translation), which may stand if convicted 18 months in prison or pay a deposit $5,000. the other is from Homicide, which can also be punished 18 months in prison or guarantee of the same amount. However, since the event is a Firearm, he can commit to it 5 years in prison if found guilty.
