The Washington Capitals on Friday signed Dylan Strome to a five-year contract extension worth $25 million.

He could have become a restricted free agent next summer as he signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract on July 14.
In his first season in the American capital, Strome accumulated 11 goals and 25 assists for 36 points in 52 games while boasting a -7 difference. The former Arizona Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks color bear ranks third in the Caps points standings.
The 25-year-old has 206 points, including 78 goals, in 325 National League games.
