LeBron James is also currently in his 20th season in professional basketball. At the start of Tuesday’s game, the famous Akron native had 38,352, so his tally of 38 on Tuesday now puts him ahead of Abdul-Jabbar with 38,390. The former Lakers record number 33 was 39 years old.

James entered the match with a knife between his teeth. Aggressive and determined, he collected 20 points in the first half. For the occasion, James wore a headband, a style that has long categorized him.

Then, after halftime, he scored 8 points, including two 3-point shots, in the first six minutes of the game to get the crowd going. LeBron didn’t even need the fourth quarter to reach the desired plateau. With ten seconds remaining in the third quarter, James slipped out of his blanket and threaded the needle.

The action was stopped immediately and a ceremony was held in his honor.

Several celebrities gathered at the Crypto.com Arena for the occasion. Among the stars are Jay-Z, Denzel Washington and John McEnroe to name a few.

LeBron James finished the game with 38 points and the Los Angeles Lakers lost 133-130 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In a post-game interview, LeBron admitted to Shaquille O’Neal “that he was still at his best mentally and physically and he still has a few years of basketball left in him.” James never hid that he would love to play in the NBA with his boys. His oldest, Bronny, is 18 and Bryce is 15. Both are excellent prospects for future NBA amateur auctions.
