The price for a 30-second ad, for 57e finally priced at $7 million (C$9.4 million). This is an increase of $500,000 (CAD$671,000) over the previous year. Some excerpts and some advertisements are already online. Here are 10 commercials to watch tomorrow on FOX and CTV during the showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
A new flavor from Bubly
Michael Bublé will be the focus of a Canadian advert for Bubly sparkling water. The British Columbia singer will be touring the country surprising fans with the 10 flavors available, including the new Raspberry Bubly. Michael Bublé will traverse Canada from Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver to Mount Royal in Montreal.
Sarah McLachlan
Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will appear in a Busch Light Beer commercial titled Shelter. She will deliver a message about the importance of establishing animal shelters under the amazed gaze of the “Bush Guy” addressing the essentials of survival in the great outdoors. We hear her in a tent, accompanied by a wolf, singing a few bars of her song Angel.
Dave Grohl and whiskey
Ex-Nirvana Dave Grohl is set to star in a Crown Royal whiskey commercial. In the two excerpts released from this commercial, we can see the Foo Fighters lead singer and guitarist reading a variety of articles in the studio and saying “thank you” in various ways over the microphone. We’ll learn more about this mysterious ad in Q3.
A very convenient mayonnaise
Actors Jon Hamm and Brie Larson will be trapped in a fridge in a Hellmann’s mayonnaise commercial. This commercial, which will air in Q3, aims to encourage creativity using the famous mayo to breathe new life into foods not consumed at Super Bowl parties. This day is the second largest in terms of food waste.
A successful event for the Planters mascot
American comedian Jeff Ross, who whacked several celebrities during his cook-up, will suffer the same fate as Planters products’ mascot, Mr. Peanut, by having him roast in the oven. Viewers are invited to upload their way of grilling Mr. Peanut on social media for a chance to win $10,000.
Serena Williams golfing
Serena Williams will swap tennis racquets for golf clubs in a Michelob Ultra beer ad. We can see her alongside Scottish actor Brian Cox from the Succession series in a commercial inspired by the cult film Caddyshack. It will also feature in an advert for Rémy Martin Cognac. Michelob Ultra will have another ad featuring golfer Rickie Fowler, analyst and ex-quarterback Tony Romo and soccer player Alex Morgan promoting the Full Swing series, which we can watch on Netflix starting February 15.
Will Ferrell and GM
Will Ferrell will star in commercials for automaker GM’s electric vehicles. We find the American actor in ads produced by
Netflix. We saw references to The Walking Dead and Squid Game series in the revealed excerpts.
Ozzy with a tie
In this advertisement by software company Workday, singer Ozzy Osborne, the Prince of Darkness, makes a first appearance at the Super Bowl in a shirt and tie, an employee of a new technology company. There will also be Paul Stanley from Kiss, Gary Clark Jr, Joan Jett and Billy Idol who no longer want to be treated like rock stars.
A $10 million field goal
Former tight end Rob Gronkowski, who took multiple passes from Tom Brady, will attempt a 25-yard precision kick live in the third quarter. If successful, players betting on the Super Bowl game on the FanDuel portal will share $10 million in free bets. This will be FanDuel’s first Super Bowl appearance.
The return of the duo breaking Bad
“Breaking Bad” duo Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, played by Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, will return for an ad for Frito-Lay’s PopCorners potato chips. The duo will star in a scene inspired by Episode 4 Days Out and written by series creator Vince Gilligan.
