Vietnam opens dizzying glass bridge between two mountains

This Friday (29th) was inaugurated in Vietnam a huge glass suspension bridge that spans 632 meters between two mountains and gives the feeling of walking about 150 meters above a forest in emptiness.

“Looking down is a bit scary at first, but you have to go forward with confidence and that’s great,” said visitor Nguyen Thi Trang.

Named Bach Long (“White Dragon” in Vietnamese), the tourist attraction is located in Son La Province in the northwest of the country. The structure skirts one side of the mountain until ending in a suspension bridge over a spectacular valley.

The base of the bridge is made of tempered glass made in France, with a maximum capacity of up to 450 people at a time. According to the operator, it is the largest glass construction in the world and, at 526 meters, surpasses the suspension bridge in Guangdong, China.

In May, officials from the Guinness Book of World Records will announce whether or not they will authenticate the new mark.
