Rihanna gushes that motherhood ‘has just added to the inspiration in my life’

Rihanna has spoken enthusiastically about how motherhood has impacted the way she lives her life and pursues her career.

The 34-year-old pop star welcomed a son with boyfriend A$AP Rocky last May but has yet to announce the baby’s name.

“Becoming a mom has only added to the inspiration in my life,” she told Elle of her Fenty Beauty line in a new interview.

“I had to find the balance between an efficient routine that maximizes precious ‘me’ time and full glamor because I really enjoy this colorful creative process.”

Her latest remarks come as she prepares for her much-anticipated halftime appearance at this Sunday’s Super Bowl.

In recent years, her music career has been largely on hold as she plunged into fashion and beauty with her Fenty businesses.

The Barbadian bombshell revealed in her new interview that her mother Monica was “the first person who introduced me to beauty and scents”.

She fondly remembers, “I loved her scent and smelling good was very important to her. It was always the finishing touch before she went out.’

Rihanna explained, “And this is how I approach fragrance today: I want it to express everything I feel, everything I am and everything I want to be.”

She explained that her mantra has always been and always will be: “Beauty is there to be enjoyed. It should never feel like pressure or uniform.” I hope this continues because it’s an incredibly joyful and liberating way to live.”

The Umbrella singer gave fans a glimpse of the skincare regimen she relies on to maintain her glowing complexion despite a busy schedule of air travel.

“I do everything to stay hydrated, from applying moisturizer to drinking coconut water — it really is the only way to save your skin, especially on those long flights across different time zones and climates,” she said.

“I bring the Fenty Skin Hydra’Reset Intensive Recovery Glycerin Hand Mask on night flights and the Fenty Skin Plush Puddin’ Intensive Recovery Lip Mask because it coats my lips and makes them look fuller. Hydration from head to toe is key!’

Rihanna is now preparing to play in Super Bowl LVII this Sunday, in which the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs near Phoenix.

She joins an illustrious list of musical acts to have taken the stage, from Lady Gaga and Beyoncé to Prince and Madonna to Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson.

Rihanna’s performance will come half a decade after she made headlines for turning down the 2018 halftime show.

Her refusal to accept this year’s Super Bowl bid was a gesture of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick amid outrage over his kneeling during the national anthem.

In May 2018, the NFL announced that players must either stand for The Star-Spangled Banner or stay off the field during the song.

A few months later, however, the policy was shelved and not enforced in the years that followed.

Rihanna confirmed to Vogue in 2019 that she “absolutely” turned down the previous year’s halftime show to be dating Colin Kaepernick.

“I wouldn’t dare. For what? Who benefits? Not my people. I just couldn’t be a sell out. I couldn’t be an enabler,” she explained.

“There are things within this organization that I do not agree with at all and I had no intention of being of service to them in any way.”

This year, however, Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation, to which Rihanna is signed, entered into a multi-year partnership with the NFL for social justice programs and ventures.

While her fans are excitedly anticipating her upcoming Super Bowl performance, rumors are also circulating that she is gearing up to get back on the road.

A source told Page Six, “There has been a lot of talk among people in the know, especially in the last week or two, that Rihanna is getting ready to announce a tour. At this point it seems to be more than just hearsay.’

Another said: “Even some members of Rihanna’s team were kept in the dark. It’s all a big secret, from the details of their halftime show to what’s next, if anything.

Rihanna hasn’t been on the road with her concerts since her Anti World Tour in 2016, which took her across North America and Europe as well as Abu Dhabi.
