Some gardeners have found the body of a woman hacked up while working in Paris’s Buttes-Chaumont park. He is being investigated for murder.
Some gardeners working in the Buttes-Chaumont park in Paris made a macabre discovery around 12 noon today, Monday 13 February. The workers have indeed found some remains of a corpse torn, presumably belonging to a woman. According to Le Parisien newspaper, the dismembered body was found in a garbage bag in a park in the capital’s 19th arrondissement. Mayor Francois Dagnaud ordered its immediate closure to the public while the police are investigating the incident.
Paris prosecutors told the French newspaper that the gardeners found only part of the victim’s body (believed to be the pelvis) and a murder investigation had already been launched. No item currently being collected allows us to provide specific information as to the victim’s date of death.
No information was given about the identity of the woman, which can only be determined by forensic examinations. According to previous international press reports, the controls are made more difficult by the condition of the corpse. are law enforcement officers attempt to reconstruct the dynamics of the facts also thanks to the images from the video surveillance cameras located near the park.

The garbage bag containing the body had been hidden in the vegetation between some bushes in the park’s narrow streets. The body was found during some maintenance work by Buttes-Chaumont’s cleaning and ordering staff.
A similar case was recorded in October 2022, when the body of a 12-year-old girl was found in an abandoned suitcase in Paris’ 19th arrondissement. The girl’s father had reported her missing when he didn’t see her coming back from school.
