Whatever the answer, this is the only correct response to Peter Quill flirting with you. Absolute disgust and a complete shutdown. Perfect. No notes.
While this new trailer doesn’t really tell us more than we’ve seen from Guardians 3, there’s something about this trailer…intriguing. We know this will be the end for a lot of players – Gunn and Bautista and maybe other characters like Bradley Cooper’s Rocket. There’s a lot less jokes and a lot more focus on loss, resolution, and endings in this trailer. I’m not going to get my hopes up, but here’s something that makes me think that if Gunn plays his cards (and characters) right, this movie could actually provide a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
But it’s Marvel, so how much ending can we really expect? I’m skeptical, but they’ve long said that this is at least the end of this iteration of the intergalactic superteam. We’ll find out how definitive this ending is when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters May 5, 2023.
