Earthquake: federal states provide two million euros in emergency aid

Following the devastating earthquake in the Turkish-Syrian border area, Austrian federal states are providing €2 million in emergency aid.

The amount is divided among countries according to their population. The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) will handle the transaction, said the governor of Burgenland Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ), current chairman of the Conference of State Governors, on Wednesday via broadcast.

The aim is “to help the local population as quickly as possible”, emphasized Doskozil. Faced with the dramatic situation in the affected area, which continues to deteriorate, it is important that countries show solidarity with financial support.
