Two years of break due to Corona should come to an end this year. No access restrictions planned so far.
So to speak, after a two-year corona coma, the traditional Oktoberfest will take place again this autumn in the Bavarian capital Munich. The announcement was made by Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) on Friday. As per previous plans, there should be no access restrictions. On September 17th, Theresienwiese’s motto will once again be: “O’zapft is.” The festival lasts until October 3.
The world’s biggest folk festival attracted around six million visitors in the years before the pandemic. It was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19. In the more than 200-year history of drinking beer and eating pork, there have been longer pauses only in times of war.
