Bam Margera’s estranged wife Nikki Boyd has filed for a legal separation from the embattled star after nine years of marriage, reports TMZ.

Jackass star Margera, 43 – who has had a history of substance abuse problems and was accused of falling off the wagon again last week by pal Steve-O – and Boyd, 38, married in October 2013 and share a son Phoenix, five.

Boyd – who puts the date of the couple’s split as September 2021 – is said to have cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the marriage split.

She has asked for legal and physical custody of Phoenix, with Margera allowing supervised visits on the condition that they take place in LA County and he pays the costs.

Boyd is also said to be seeking spousal support.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Bam Margera’s representatives for comment.

This comes days after Steve-O heartbreakingly wrote on Instagram that he was “preparing” for the death of his troubled Jackass co-star Margera.

Margera is currently on tour supporting Steve-O.

But an Instagram exchange between the pair revealed the cracks in their relationship, as Steve-O accused Margera of falling off the wagon, declaring: “You’re dying bro and it sucks there’s nothing I can do about you to rescue. ‘

The back-and-forth began when Margera posted a throwback snap of herself between Steve-O and her Jackass co-star Johnny Knoxville.

Knoxville has had a conflicted relationship lately with Margera, who sued him for wrongful termination of the 2021 film Jackass Forever, but then dropped the case.

In the caption of his now-deleted Instagram throwback, Margera wrote, “One arm is a best friend that’s been holding me back all this time, another arm is a show-off. A professional creation thief. If Jeff Tremaine was in this photo, he would be too greedy to fit in.

Jeff Tremaine, a producer and co-creator of the Jackass franchise, filed a restraining order against Margera in 2021, accusing him of molestation.

Margera wrote in his new caption: “F*** jeff. Remember I tattooed this a long time ago Jeff? Because I knew who you were all along. @steveo much love and respect.’

Happier times: Jackass star Margera, 43 – who has had a history of substance abuse problems and was accused of falling off the wagon again last week by pal Steve-O – and Boyd, 38, married in October 2013 and share a son Phoenix, five (pictured 2013) Heartbreaking: Steve-O (pictured last August) wrote on Instagram last week that he was “preparing” for the death of his ailing Jackass co-star Bam. Yikes: Margera, who has had a roller coaster history of addiction, is currently on tour supporting Steve-O

Steve-O posted and then quickly deleted a lengthy comment revealing his heartbreaking reaction to his friend’s alleged behavior.

“Bam, last night you had your five year old son on stage at my show and you were blessed with a chance to spend another day or two with him – then as soon as you left my show you stayed up all night charged enough to think posting more despicable nonsense like this was a good idea,” he began.

“I hope you understand how awful this is. You say you want a relationship with your son, but your actions guarantee the exact opposite will happen.”

He shared, “I took you on tour with the hope that I could get you to see what’s possible for you if you choose recovery. I’ve tried everything I can, but I can’t force you to be honest and do the work of recovery.’

He concluded, smugly: “I wish you could know how much I hated feeling prepared for the news of your death, but you make it clear I have no choice. You’re dying bro and it sucks there’s nothing I can do to save you.”

He deleted the comment but told TMZ he still means what he wrote, adding that he remains willing to help Margera sober if she means business.

Steve-O has taken Margera on tour, helped his struggling former Jackass co-star work on new material, and compared him to Britney Spears.

The 48-year-old comedian has made Margera – who claimed to have been “pronounced basically dead” in hospital in December – as his opening act on The Bucket List Tour and the two pals are currently on the road.

The pair played to packed houses across the country, kickstarting Bam’s comeback after several stints in rehab and numerous health issues.

In video obtained by TMZ, Steve-O stunned audiences at the Elsinore Theater in Salem, Oregon last weekend when he brought Bam to the stage and helped the pro skateboarder edit his footage.

Steve-O said: “My dear friend Bam here is new to the idea of putting an act together. So I’m here to help Bam figure that out. So go ahead, introduce yourself.’

“Well,” Margera replied, “I’m Bam Margera and I’m the Britney Spears of Jackass.”

The Viva La Bam star went on to explain his connection to the pop star, who was locked up in a highly controversial 13-year conservatory where she alleged mismanagement and abuse at the hands of her father.

“…I’ve had a legal guardian make my decisions for a year now,” Bam explained. “A judge stripped me of all my rights and I just completed my own rock ‘n’ roll tour of ten different rehabs for a year and a half in Florida.”

Bam sat across from Steve-O on stage and told the audience that he had his credit card tattooed on his arm because it had been confiscated so many times in rehab and in prison.

The ink came in handy when Margera and his fellow patients went to the movies.

“They wouldn’t buy any of us popcorn or soda, so I come back with all that damn popcorn and soda and gave it to everyone.”

Steve-O ended up asking a blunt and funny question that led to an emotional moment.

“And with all the rehab and jails, what’s the plan now?” he asked Bam and giggled. “See…I think I can pull back the curtain a bit here and tell you guys that the reason I wanted to bring Bam on tour is because I’m really freaking worried about him.”

From there, Steve-O opened up to the audience and gave a heartfelt speech to Bam: “It has become extremely uncomfortable to be prepared for the news of your death, Bam. I’ve braced myself for this terrible news and I can’t take it, man.

Comparison: On stage in Salem, Margera dubbed himself “The Britney Spears of Jackass” and explained his connection to the pop star. “…I’ve had a legal guardian make my decisions for a year now,” Bam explained. “A judge stripped me of all my rights and I just completed my own rock ‘n’ roll tour of ten different rehabs to hear in Florida for a year and a half.”

He continued, “So I wanted you to come on tour, stay close to me, see what’s possible, help you put together an act of your own.”

“You have this bow,” Steve-O said to Bam. “All this funny stuff and jokes and stories. It all doesn’t suck if it doesn’t have a happy ending where you come out the other end happy and healthy and a good father and damn successful in your career.

“And that is what I wish for you, brother,” Steve-O said, ending the powerful moment.

The two friends got up from their chairs, hugged on stage and continued the show.
