Interviewed exclusively by Leggo, Lello Arena this is how he answered the magic moment Naples: “A city destined, for better or for worse, to put on a show. Being in Naples now is really nice, people are always smiling. And the film commission is inundated with requests. The stories of the Congo are shot in Naples , even I was looking for German characters like the doctor in “Tag des Murmeltiers aus Drei” in the city. I was actually supposed to be shooting in Germany for two weeks, but instead I shot the scenes in the business district. The Germans are still looking for where these places in are in their area”.
Then the memory of the great friend Massimo Troisi: “He was an asynchronous artist, away from the mainstream, one who was always trying to change things and oleographic clichés. In short, outside the rules. Honoris causa degree? Let’s say he studied accounting for a long time. But he wasn’t stupid… Massimo had trouble staying in an education system. But this system is now paying him back, recognizing his greatness. It’s a nice gesture of justice.”
Concluding from Lello Arena on Smorfia’s spicy comedy: “It means we’re all out of sync. But I think Massimo best describes the feeling of being outside the box when he said you shouldn’t look back, you should look ahead. Also because he had turned around once: There was no Nisciun …”.
