A white hotel worker has been accused of mocking a Native American accent during a furious showdown over her severely disabled relative’s checkout hours.
Kathryn Carrette, a housekeeper at the Great Falls Inn in Butte, Montana, yelled, “I’m gonna put this on TikTok, I’m gonna put this on TikTok,” while arguing with Jaylynn Mitchell at the hotel on Feb. 9.
She appeared to be repeating a threat Mitchell had just made off camera.
Mitchell, a member of the Rocky Boys tribe in Montana, took offense at Carrette’s bizarre accent and hammy gestures and said to a relative, “See how she’s making fun of our accent?”
And she later made good on her apparent threat to upload the showdown to TikTok, where she branded Carrette’s accent “blatant racism,” causing the footage to go viral.
The unseemly drama began with a communication failure regarding late check-out for three rooms booked by Carrette and her relatives, including her severely disabled uncle.

Guest Jaylynn Mitchell, pictured left, began arguing with Carrette about a late check-out when Carrette barged into her family’s room to clean it, upsetting Mitchell’s paraplegic uncle
They asked to check out at noon instead of 11am as stated by the hotel.
But Carrette was not informed, and things got ugly when she knocked on one of the family’s room doors at 11:30 a.m. to start cleaning, only to find them still inside.
Mitchell and Carrette began arguing, with a clip later uploaded by Mitchell showing the two women shooting at each other in the hotel lobby.
Carrette threatened to call the police, which prompted Mitchell to rant about allegations that a severely disabled relative had been treated shabbily.
She yelled, “F**king acting like that for being there… disrespectful to a paraplegic who can’t fucking walk.”
But the apology didn’t sit well with Carrette, who angrily replied: “He was supposed to be out by 11am, that’s the whole point. I don’t care if he’s quadriplegic, I don’t care.’
The drama then shifted to a nearby reception, where general manager Kelli LaFountain called the police.
LaFountain was heard saying, “Hi, I’m at a Great Falls Inn, we have some very disruptive guests in the lobby.”
She also highlighted the racist aspect of the showdown, saying “They take us in because they’re out after box office time, we’re dumb white people.”
Neither Mitchell nor any other unseen woman she was with were heard to say anything about white people in the shared footage, and it’s unclear if a comment was made before the recording began.
A police officer later arrived at the scene and resolved the dispute through mediation. No charges were brought against the guests or the hotel staff.
Manager Kelli LaFountain was filmed on the phone with cops and was heard saying, “We’re dumb white people,” though it’s unclear if she was repeating anything Mitchell said off-camera

Great Falls Police Captain Doug Otto said: “They (her family) asked for a late check-out and the lady or manager, whoever they said, did not forward that message to the housekeeper. The housekeeper wanted to knock on their door and started getting aggressive towards them.’
The incident continued to anger Mitchell even after the dispute was settled. She posted a lengthy caption alongside the TikTok upload, which read: “I wonder why this ‘establishment’ is a two star hotel!!
“These women have blatantly disrespected our entire family this morning! My uncle is paraplegic and they said he could check out at noon! You shouldn’t break your word!
“Note that the first lady to yell was on the maid! It takes at least 3 of us to get our uncle ready and out of bed and into custody at 11:30am where we were all hers and that’s what we drove up to was that these women yelled at my two uncles that they had to come over 11!
“I hope our tribe stops supporting this horrible place!”
Hotel workers told KRTV that the women made 30 threats during the fight and that their facility was in no way racist.
A spokesman said: “We are fair, open-minded and honest. We treat every guest with dignity and respect. ‘
“This is an extremely unfortunate incident that has happened. Because the safety of our guests comes first. We were concerned about the extent of the disruption.
“The police were called and the matter was settled.”
