A break
The name Jay Kutcher not only creates a break with his pop past, but also allows him to sing in English and hope to break into the new country market. The 38-year-old singer is thinking of the rest of Canada, the United States and internationally, where he’s “missed a few dates.”
He, too, wants to move to Uncle Sam’s country at some point with his children and his wife, the actress Frédérique Dufort.

“I feel so free,” the singer continues. It’s an independent album, we made everything ourselves. We made this bet and it is also a family project, everyone around me puts energy into this project. »
This six-song EP will be released next fall.
Jay Kutcher made three trips to Nashville, where he worked in the studio with Quebec director Danick Dupelle (Matt Lang). There he met several singer-songwriters and perfected his English. The singer praises the positive energy and empowerment he finds in the new country music world.
“I want to remain authentic in it,” specifies the artist, who was inspired by Australian singer Keith Urban. I’ve had great feedback from people in Nashville and English Canada. People in the industry tell me I have a beautiful voice, which I’ve never been told. I hope to become a new country figure in Quebec. »
He also wants to continue writing for other artists and plans future collaborations with the youngest participants of the Star Académie.
