“A motorbike came by asking for help, when we saw the situation we drove to the spot and sure enough there were people under the rubble,” Sergeant Yarte said of saving lives.

In the pictures published by the Federal Foreign Office, two federal police dogs can be seen working together to search for people under the rubble. They are Indio and Akira, a border collie and a Malinois sheepdog working under orders from First Sergeant Gómez and First Corporal Oliva.
