Former Partridge Family actor Danny Bonaduce, 62, took to Twitter today to announce that he is on medical leave from his Seattle radio show The Danny Bonaduce & Sarah Morning Show on KZOK.
“Some news to share,” the actor wrote over a photo of himself holding a red cane. “I’m taking temporary medical leave from my radio show. I will share more when I know more. I’m still working on getting a diagnosis. What I do know is that I need time to focus on my health. I love my job and talking to you guys and I will be back on the air soon.”

Referring to the stick, he added below: “Charlie Chaplin, Willy Wonka, Danny Bonaduce. I joined the cool guys with sticks club.”
Bonaduce didn’t have the easiest path through life, starting with child stars. According to his own statements, he suffered severe physical and mental abuse at the hands of his father. As a result, he often stayed at the home of Partridge Family co-star Shirley Jones to avoid the beatings.
In 1990 he was arrested when he tried to buy cocaine while in Florida to host a DARE event. In 1991, Bonaduce was arrested in Phoenix for hitting and robbing a prostitute whose nose he had broken.
In 2007, he was the subject of a felony investigation after he threw former Survivor contestant Johnny Fairplay over his shoulder at the Fox Reality Awards after Fairplay hugged him on stage. LADA later concluded that Bonaduce acted in self-defense.
Along with The Partridge Family, Bonaduce appeared on a number of popular shows as a child, including Bewitched, The Ghost & Mrs. Muir and Mayberry RFD
In the late ’70s and early ’80s, he found work on Eight Is Enough, Fantasy Island, and CHiPs, where he starred for four episodes.

After that, the roles became fewer and fewer. While still occasionally working in film and television, he switched to radio in the late 1980s.
