Elon Musk tells AOC to ‘stop hitting on me’ after mocking billionaires

Elon Musk’s quip continued when he teased Democratic New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for criticizing his Twitter purchase.

After announcing plans to buy social media site Twitter for $44 billion, the Tesla CEO has become something of a comedian with a series of ridiculous tweets relating to his controversial purchase. Some, including Ocasio-Cortez, don’t find Musk’s jokes amusing.

On Friday, Ocasio-Cortez vented her frustrations with billionaires, apparently stabbing Musk for buying the “massive communications platform.”

“I’m tired of emphasizing collectively what a hate crime explosion is happening because a billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a huge communications platform and distorts it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him out to dinner and made him feel to be special,” Ocasio- Cortez tweeted.

The multi-billionaire responded by teasing her and telling the New Yorker: “Stop beat on me, I’m really shy.” Musk added a blushing emoji to seal the deal.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to Musk by saying, “I talked about Zuckerberg, but ok,” and then deleted the tweet right after, according to ProPublica’s website, which tracks deleted tweets by politicians.

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz fueled the interaction, retweeting the spit with a variety of “fire” emojis.

Musk began his Twitter antics earlier in the week and has since gained over 2.5 million followers, according to social media tracker site Social Blade.

Musk joked about buying another mega-corporation to add to his inventory.

“Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in,” Musk wrote late Wednesday.

The joke tweet has now received over 4.6 million likes and 860,000 retweets. Newsweek reviewed Musk’s claim and discovered that the original Coca-Cola recipe actually contained some form of cocaine in the drink.

In his rant, Musk also mentioned a fake tweet that looks like it came from his account.

“Now I’m going to buy McDonald’s and fix all the ice machines,” the tweet reads.

Although that tweet was not from Musk, he retweeted a screenshot of the fake tweet and said, “Listen, I can’t work miracles, ok.”

Musk said he wanted to “make Twitter as fun as possible.”

Newsweek reached out to Musk and Ocasio-Cortez for comment.
