(ANSA) — BEIRUT, FEBRUARY 19 — According to the Beirut-based NGO Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Israeli raid on Damascus left 15 dead, including civilians. The Syrian state agency SANA speaks of a rocket that hit “residential buildings” and caused “death and injuries”, but did not give a number. The attack took place in the central district of Kafr Sousa, apparently near an Iranian cultural center.
AFP journalists in Damascus said they heard loud explosions followed by ambulance sirens shortly after midnight local time. (HAND).
