The WWE United States Title will be at stake in a first-ever match during Monday’s Post-Elimination Chamber edition of RAW.
Today’s post-Elimination Chamber press conference opened with WWE United States Champion Austin Theory defending his title in the Chamber by defeating Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed, Montez Ford, Damian Priest and Johnny Gargano. The theory held Rollins in order to keep him after Logan Paul surprisingly showed up to take out Rollins. Theory issued an open challenge for his title during the press conference.
The theory ranted that nobody is at his level, nobody does it like him, but if there’s someone who thinks maybe he can get to his level then he’ll give him a title shot on Monday. The theory didn’t believe there will be anyone to take the Open Challenge because nobody is the now and nobody is like them forever. The theory goes that it doesn’t matter who answers the challenge because they’re driving A-Town down.
WWE Hall of Famers Edge and Beth Phoenix later came to the press conference to discuss their win over Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley in the Elimination Chamber. Before Edge left, he accepted Theory’s open challenge and said since Monday’s RAW is in Ottawa, a place he hasn’t fought in 17-18 years and he hasn’t had gold in a while, then he will ascend the plate. Edge joked that Theory is a fan of John Cena, meaning he’s clearly stupid, but then added that he respects Cena because Cena has a work ethic, something he believes Theory doesn’t have . Edge went on to say he might have to kick his teeth into Theory’s neck on Monday.
WWE then confirmed Edge vs. Theory for RAW on Monday.
“After defeating five other competitors in Saturday’s Elimination Chamber, US Champion Austin Theory announced he wanted to face a worthy opponent during the WWE Elimination Chamber press conference. With Raw being from Ottawa, Canadian native Edge quickly accepted Theory’s challenge. The Rated-R Superstar also won his match at the WWE Elimination Chamber. Can Theory add another legend to his ledger, or will Edge put the brash young Superstar in his place? Don’t miss Raw this Monday at 8/7 C in the US!” WWE wrote.
The only other match announced for Monday’s RAW by the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada is Mustafa Ali vs. Dolph Ziggler.
