The Russian Defense Ministry this Sunday denounced the shipment of containers with radioactive substances from a European country to Ukraine as a provocation to accuse the Russian armed forces.
According to the military authorities, several containers with radioactive substances were delivered from the territory of one of the European countries to carry out the farce without going through customs control, the Sputnik news agency emphasized this Sunday.
According to the information, ahead of the start of the 11th extraordinary special session of the UN General Assembly on February 22, Kyiv is still preparing a large-scale provocation to accuse Russia of alleged “serious violations” of nuclear safety.
The Defense Ministry added that the purpose is to accuse the Russian armed forces of allegedly carrying out attacks on radioactive objects in Ukraine, which led to the leakage of radioactive substances and contamination of the area.
On February 14, Russia condemned Kiev’s preparations for a provocation to accuse Russia of violating the Nuclear Safety Convention in the area of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
After the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine last February, Russian forces took control of two of the five nuclear power plants on Ukrainian territory: Chernobyl (deactivated) and Zaporozhye (deactivated). service), which is today the largest in Europe.
