DaBaby continues to be in the news for all reasons unrelated to his music.
The rapper is now being prosecuted over an incident in which a guy who tried to stop him and his entourage from filming a music video on his property was injured after being beaten. The incident happened in early December last year and DaBaby was charged with assault by the LA District Attorney’s Office.
The incident reportedly seriously injured man Gary Pagar, and he decided to file a lawsuit in February, according to TMZ. The music video was shot for the song Stunna 4 Vegas by DaBaby’s artist, in which Jake Paul makes a cameo appearance.
TMZ reports that DaBaby and his team rented a huge apartment in the Pagar-managed area and signed a lease for a week’s stay, which mentioned that no more than 12 people could stay at the property. Noticing there were more than 12 people there, Pagar complained to DaBaby’s team and they assured him they wouldn’t be staying too long.
But then Pagar decided to pay a visit himself on December 2 and found that an entire crew, almost 40 in number, was shooting a video. When he tried to speak to DaBaby about it, someone allegedly assaulted Pagar, which was caught on video. DaBaby told the person to back off, but then he himself punched Pagar and knocked his tooth off, the lawsuit alleges. Pagar then went to the authorities with his complaint.
Earlier this week, video surfaced of DaBaby allegedly shooting a man in a Walmart, an incident in which he previously claimed self-defense and ultimately was not charged.
