Meghan McCain is open about the pressure she’s putting on her body after giving birth to her second child.

McCain, 38, and husband Ben Domenech, 41, welcomed baby girl Clover Jade on Jan. 19. They also share 2-year-old daughter Liberty Sage.

McCain revealed in an op-ed for The Chron that since having Clover she has been “pushed” to start taking Ozempic to “melt the baby weight off”.

“I’ve just given birth and I’m told to do a ‘miracle shot’ of Ozempic as a quick fix… It’s terrifying, unfair and disturbing – and I refuse,” she captioned the candid piece.

She opened the article by saying that “it’s been four weeks since she gave birth and you wouldn’t believe what I’m hearing.”

Aside from the usual questions, McCain said she was also asked if she planned to take Ozempic.

“Forgiveness?” She continued, before explaining, “In case you don’t know, there’s a buzz sweeping the nation: a new ‘miracle’ drug pounds off.”

She noted that other celebrities like Chelsea Handler have said they use it but claim not to know they were on it.

“Elon Musk says he uses it. Real Housewives fame Kyle Richards, who recently flaunted re-emerged abs, has denied taking it.

She later said that there are “people who rightfully struggle with obesity and need Ozempic. But I’m not one of those people,” and she’s shocked that “casual friends” and “industry acquaintances” have asked her if they’d like to take it.

“I’ve been told ‘everybody does it,’ like that was ever going to be a compelling case,” McCain said. “I hear ‘Just take the syringe,’ as it has become known in shorthand. I was even offered a black market giveaway by someone with ‘extra home footage’. “

The story goes on

“Well, let me make one thing very clear. I do not take it. I refuse. There is a clear moral problem here. It’s hard to take a drug because bathing season is upon us while others need it to stay alive. And how can that be healthy?”

She shared that she feels Ozempic is hurting the advances that have been made in body positivity and acceptance in recent years.

Commenting on her two young daughters, McCain wrote: “As a new mother, I also have a responsibility to set an example for my daughters who will one day be held to the same standards of beauty. Their world will only get more challenging as social media penetrates deeper into the American consciousness.

“This isn’t the world I want for them, and it’s not the world I want for myself.”

She concluded: “As for Ozempic, I’d rather have a few extra pounds than shoot myself with meds. There is nothing of value that is easy to obtain. And that goes for my health and the health of my girls.”
