MOSCOW, April 30 (RHC) Statements made by US Defense Department spokesman John Kirby to Russia are offensive and unacceptable, said the country’s Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov.

During a Friday briefing, the Pentagon official questioned Moscow’s motives for the Russian military operation in Ukraine, saying Kyiv posed no threat to anyone.

Kirby said Moscow is sending “strange signals about the Nazis in Ukraine,” “strange signals that it’s America versus Russia or the West versus Russia.”

He also labeled Russian official statements about the objectives of the operation as “bullshit” and “ridiculous statements”.

“It is surprising that these provocations come from a former military man who knows the meaning of the word well,” Antonov wrote on the Telegram channel of the Moscow diplomatic mission in that country.

He stressed that Russian officials had never made such comments against Washington’s leaders.

“It has become the norm here for administrative officials to base their judgments on the blasphemous lies of the Ukrainian authorities. At the same time, they do not want to recognize the countless crimes committed by the Kiev regime,” the diplomat said.

He pointed out that the US government continues to arm Ukraine. He further stressed that the primary goal of the Pentagon spokesman and his colleagues is to generate additional revenue for the military-industrial complex and purge its stockpiles of obsolete weapons.

He said that with such a policy, it seemed clear that the White House was not interested in a ceasefire in Ukraine.

“John Kirby has lost the dignity of an American officer by degrading himself to the level of a serious insult. He should be ashamed that he sullied the honor of his uniform,” said the Russian ambassador. (Source:PL)
