Last week, the Marvel Cinematic Universe launched Phase 5. AntMan and the Wasp: Quantumaniawe see the first steps of the studio’s new big villain, Kang the Conqueror, who reigns in the aforementioned Quantum Realm.

In addition to special appearances and blatant hints about the future of the franchise, the feature also brings some clues and surprises for fans. So we decided to list here the easter eggs and references from AntMan and the Wasp: Quantumania.

renowned writer

The film opens with a nice montage showing how everything in Scott Lang’s life has changed since Avengers: Endgame. After saving the world, he became a minor celebrity. And as everyone does at some point in their career, Scott started her own podcast, as in Ms. Marvel, and now his own book, which tells his story in a rather dubious way — Watch out for the little guy. And this book actually exists and can be purchased in major bookstores.

Spider, ant, all the same

Now unmissable. Who has never confused AntMan with? Spiderman? The Super Bugs’ similar name has always been a source of confusion among noncomics fans, especially before the arrival of the MCU. So it’s quite amusing to see a coffee shop owner mistake Scott for his stubborn friend. It’s a shame that when AntMan finally realizes his mistake, he doesn’t get free coffee anymore. It seems that someone is not famous enough.

Like father like daughter

AntMan and the Wasp: Quantumania is filled with references to the hero’s first film, as in the introduction to Stature itself. In the 2015 classic, Scott Lang makes his debut in prison, shortly before his release for his crimes. And so did her daughter years later. Cassie Lang appears in this film imprisoned after committing a similar crime against her father.

Stateless live!

In AntMan (2015), Scott Lang ended up in jail for diverting funds his former employer surreptitiously stole from clients. And it seems that righting wrong is in this family’s blood. Just as her father was fighting an abusive corporation, Cassie ended up in jail for protesting the housing rights of those who disappeared into the blip. The subject has already been covered in a Marvel series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, in which a group of militias fought for the right to housing around the world. It seems that Stature would do very well in this controversial team.

Old friend Jimmy Woo

Jimmy Woo had a great success in wall visionas a research partner of darcy. But the character’s first appearance was there Ant Man and the Wasp. And, not to be undone, the character has a brief presence in Quantumania, catching up on gossip over lunch with Scott Lang.

BaskinRobbins always finds out

the fast food chain Baskin Robbins from the first film also returns in Quantumania. Even after Scott Lang was fired for his criminal past, the business has the audacity to use his former employee’s famous picture to publicize his business.

Another oddity about BaskinRobbins is that there is a series 31 hidden in the company logo. This detail is most noticeable on the staff’s hats, and coincidentally, Quantumania is Marvel Studios’ 31st film. In an interview, Kevin Feige pointed out how it couldn’t be otherwise. After all, the man knows his way around with caps.

the old days

A few iconic MCU movies and moments are referenced throughout the film to warm the hearts of nostalgics. For example, on Avengers: Endgame, Scott mentions the fastpaced scene where hulk turns him into a baby in addition to meeting him rocket raccoon. In Captain America: Civil War, Cassie talks about her father’s fight against the Captain America, which didn’t quite happen that way. Scott soon reiterates that he was there for Steve Rogers. Also because who would be crazy to go up against Captain America?

Kurt with no holes

Within the quantum realm, the Easter eggs have not stopped appearing. And only those who have very good hearing must have noticed it. Although the hilarious Luis isn’t present in this sequel, another member of Scott Lang’s gang of thieves from the first feature film makes an unusual return. I’m talking about Kurt, the European hacker. The character was played by David Dastmalchianwho also gave birth to Bolinhas The Suicide Squad. The actor returns in this film as a gelatinous alien obsessed with holes. Veb.

krylar

While the vast majority of the denizens of the Quantum Realm are entirely original, the characters were created specifically for the films Bill Muray It was adapted straight from the comics. Janet’s friend identifies herself as Mr Krylarthis is the name of an inhabitant of the microverse encountered hulk in their stories. He also has green skin in the comics, but that was omitted from the film. At least for a while.

subatomic

When the team needs to take off, Janet suggests a route through SubAtomica, a location straight out of the comics. Again, it has to do with the Microverse.

subatomic is a microverse solar system that the Fantastic Four You will find on your adventures. The family explores their five planets in their stories in the 1960s while searching for the whereabouts of Doctor Doom.

The Return of the Yellow Jacket

One of the film’s biggest controversies is its interpretation MODOK The quirky comic book villain here is the result of the corruption of Yellowjacket, the villain in the first AntMan film. The hero’s debut is mentioned at the beginning of the feature film, when Cassie recalls being almost killed by a beeman as a child. But it’s only later revealed that Darren ended up here after being shrunk by Scott.

The villain’s original mask had already appeared completely destroyed in a scene from Loki No Empty, a place that’s like a timeline dump that houses lost variants. As it turned out, he survived his fate, but was eventually corrupted into his favorite destruction machine. kanthis is MODOK And even after all this time he’s still a dork.

Sylvie’s mistake

At the end of Loki, we learn that the One Who Remains destroyed timelines to maintain the stability of the sacred timeline, to prevent new variants of himself from arising and threatening the peace of the universe. Well, Sylvie doesn’t believe the cosmic being’s apology and murders him in cold blood.

And so she unleashes the most dangerous versions of Kang into the flow of the multiverse, which not only sets the events of Quantumania in motion, but is also reflected in the first postcredits scene that brings that about Council of Kangs. To make matters worse, AntMan may have repeated this darling’s mistake by defeating The Conqueror, the hero may have eliminated the first line of defense against even more cunning versions of the villain.

The butcher of the gods

Gorr may be called the Butcher of the Gods in Thor: Love and Thunder, but the villain doesn’t do much to live up to his nickname in the MCU. Kang, on the other hand, reveals that he has already killed several Avengers, including the God of Thunder. Who is the slayer of the gods now, isn’t he?

The risk of burglary

Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness brought a glimpse of what could prove to be the final threat Multiverse Saga: for the raids. And Quantumania amplifies the danger of this cataclysmic event as Kang reveals his variants can cause it Clash between multiverses.

A dynasty of kangs

Don’t you think it’s funny when a character says the name of the movie himself? Well, in Quantumania they mentioned the name of an upcoming movie Avengers: Kang Dynasty. The speech comes in the middle of the villain’s speech about how he was banished by a riot of his other variants and the danger of not stopping them.

secret code

Quaz the telepath played by ??? from The Good Place, mentally discover the secret code to unlock the limited access 18147. As usual, this is an Easter egg left by the production team. Avengers #181 is Scott Lang’s first appearance before he was a hero. And in Marvel Premiere #47, he slips into the role of AntMan for the first time.

a huge woman

At the height of the fighting, Cassie Lang manages to transform into a giant woman. And the scene plays out very similarly to the moment Scott unlocks this power in Captain America 3: Civil War. As she runs toward danger and mixes Pym Particles, Cassie mutters “Please run” like her father. And when it’s all over, she’s obsessed with citrus, just like Scott.

Kang will return!

After all of the postcredits scenes have played, the classic phrase announcing the characters’ return appears on screen. But for the second time in Marvel history, it’s not the heroes who return, but the villain: Kang will return. The only other time something like this happened was in Avengers: Infinity War, where the return of Thanos was announced.
