Being a celebrity definitely has its downsides, especially when it comes to legal issues or divorce. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp know this all too well, as their court battle has been making headlines for years. Things are really heating up now that the defamation case has started in the States, and all sorts of wild stories are coming along – even cafes like Starbucks have gotten in on the drama. Most recently, Depp’s bodyguard shared a story about bribing a homeless man to get the actor’s phone back after Heard allegedly threw it.
After Johnny Depp took a personal stand against Amber Heard in the defamation case, more witnesses followed suit. That includes Starling Jenkins, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor’s bodyguard, who opened up about how Amber Heard allegedly threw Depp’s phone out the window on her birthday. Jenkins was hired to recover the device after a homeless person tripped over it.
Luckily, a light bribe was enough to convince this person to return Johnny Depp’s phone, which no doubt contains some sensitive information about the star. As Insider reported, Starling told Jenkins how the exchange took place in court, saying:
I gave him a reward for it: $420, chicken tacos, fries, apples, and Fijian water.
And just like that, Johnny Depp was able to get his phone back, and the homeless man who found it was given some much-needed supplies. Luckily, the actor had the Find my iPhone app on the device so his bodyguard could track her down. This comes after Amber Heard allegedly threw Depp’s wallet, phone and passports out of a balcony window on the night of her birthday.
The night this alleged incident occurred marks a key event in the history of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s relationship. April 21, 2016 was the night of Amber Heard’s 30th birthday and also reportedly the beginning of their breakup. Heard allegedly threw her husband’s belongings off the balcony after he was late for their party.
This story about Johnny Depp’s phone is just the latest wild development from his ongoing lawsuit against Amber Heard. As mentioned, Depp spent days at the booth himself, with the clips quickly making their way onto the internet and going viral. And as a result, a crowd of fans has gathered outside the Virginia courthouse.
While losing your phone would be stressful for anyone, this story is far less dramatic than some of the other allegations made against Amber Heard in the course of the defamation lawsuit. For example, both actors’ legal teams played shocking audio and film footage of the two fights. There are more shocking stories, one involving a bowel movement.
Professionally, the two actors have a number of projects ahead of them. Johnny Depp has recently started booking new jobs again, while Amber Heard is set to star in Aquaman 2 on March 17, 2023. In the meantime, check out the 2022 theatrical release dates to plan your next movie experience.
