FBC Melgar Pablo Lavallen denies attack on referee

Position. FBC Melgar’s DT pointed out that his 6-date ban was not fair.

The FBC coach Melgar, Pablo Lavallen, on RPP program ‘Fútbol Como Cancha’, described his six-date ban as unfair to lead in the Betsson 1 League. He was expelled in the match of the fourth day of the Apertura against Municipal in Arequipa.

In the report presented by the referee of this game Michael Espinoza, it is noted that Lavallén delivered three punches with his fist to Deputy Judge Abraham Loayza’s back. “Surprised by the report and consequently by the sanction … When the situation of Pablo Magnín, who had to leave the field because he had an armband, I told the linesman to check his re-entry because we were with one about five minutes less on the field. When he didn’t listen to me, I went into the room for the player to come back in. That was all talk.”

He added: “As the call ended, Espinoza came and kicked me straight out. I asked him for explanations. I return with the line, with Abraham Loayza, and I ask him the same thing. I didn’t verbally insult him, I didn’t understand the expulsion. He told me there were ways to make claims. That was the only explanation he gave me. When I read the report that there were three hits in the back, I was surprised.”

Lavallén explained he doesn’t understand why referee Espinoza was used in the team’s first game. He said he would have been expelled in 2022 for no reason either.
