Warsaw is building the largest army in Europe and is a leader in providing military support to Ukraine. The Become a Soldier of Poland campaign was launched two months after the start of the war. The goal was to improve the recruitment process, make it easier and faster. Today there are 164,000 soldiers. The goal to be achieved is 300,000 units by 2030: a force almost twice the size of Germany, which also has more than twice the population. The government has also introduced a new one-year, voluntary and paid military service.

Over the past year, Warsaw has signed several contracts for the purchase of vehicles and equipment, notably with the United States – such as the 5 billion deal for the purchase of 250 US Abrams tanks, to which another 116 have recently been added – and Korea of southern Poland has also decided to buy Bayraktar bombing drones from Turkey.
