Betters heading out to enjoy their Friday night in Sydney could be faced with a transport and traffic nightmare.

Delays are expected at four major events bringing over 150,000 people to the city and NSW Transport is urging revelers to use public transport.

British superstar Ed Sheeran is set to play a sold-out gig at the Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park tonight, with around 83,500 people flocking to see the show.

Thousands have also flocked to Surry Hills tonight, where roads are closed to WorldPride’s Pride Villages, which will host stands, performances and street parties.

The crowds will only resume on Saturday night when the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras returns to Oxford Street after a two-year hiatus, with an estimated 300,000 partygoers expected at the parade alone.

The following weekend will be just as busy when English pop star Harry Styles plays two sold-out shows at Accor Stadium on March 3rd and 4th, again drawing 83,500 concert-goers each night.

On the same days, WorldPride will host a “one off street party” with the famous Oxford Street closed from Liverpool Street to Flinders Street.
