The public transport strike has ended in Lévis.

The South Coast Bus Drivers Union (CSN) on Friday passed the agreement in principle presented to them by 72%.
The signing of this agreement therefore ends the indefinite general strike. Operations will resume on Saturday, February 25th.
All lines normally provided by ST Lévis will resume service according to the usual schedule.
The collective agreement will contain provisions to end subcontracting in the area and to increase the number of permanent positions.
“Our demands have always been clear to end outsourcing and increase permanent employment,” said Alain Audet, president of the South Shore Bus Drivers’ Union.
Straighten the network
“The city of Lévis is taking a first step in the right direction to streamline its public transport network,” said Barbara Poirier, President of the Conseil central de Québec-Chaudière-Appalaches.
Catching up on salary is also part of the agreement.
The South Shore Bus Drivers’ Union (CSN) brings together 110 drivers employed by the Société de transport de Lévis.
The Société de transport de Lévis is also satisfied with the result.
“The new collective agreement addresses the concerns expressed by all parties,” stated STLévis President Steve Dorval in particular.
six-year contract
“The cost of the collective agreement is reasonable in the circumstances and respects the ability of users and citizens to pay,” concludes Mr Dorval.
The new employment contract is valid for six years from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2027. It provides for a bonus on the driver’s salary of 17.5 to 20% over the contract period. The number of permanent positions will gradually increase from 80 to 95 by the end of 2027.
