All networks that offer benefits in kind offer very interesting opportunities.

Outfitters offer a range of different experiences and stays. More than a hundred are open in winter. Of these, 50 offer ice fishing. For the winter, more than 50 are Family Outfitters, meaning they offer services and amenities tailored to the family, such as entertainment, fire pits, picnic areas, and outdoor games. As for spring break, we should mention that 25 outfitters offer dog sledding, 79 snowshoeing, 29 skate and 35 slide. You have a choice of different types of accommodation: inns, condominiums (as at L’Auberge du Lac-à-l’Eau-Claire) or chalets. Really, the choice is huge. If you take the time to visit www.pourvoiriesquebec.com or call 418.877-5191 you will be given all the information relevant to your vacation choice.

SEPAQ

The Outdoor Establishments Association is also a very interesting option with its many offers.

Cross-country skiing in Sépaq means, above all, almost 400 kilometers of marked and machine-maintained trails. You have a choice of Camp Mercier, in the Laurentides Game Reserve, Mont-Mégantic, Mont-Orford, Mont Saint-Bruno, Mont-Tremblant and Oka National Parks, not to mention Duchesnay station. Most of these facilities offer equipment rentals, a waxing room, relays, catering and a boutique.

The routes often lead to heated relays. Several other parks in the network also offer cross-country skiing, but the services are not the same.

There are many other options such as fat tire biking, slides, snowshoeing on groomed trails, not to mention ice fishing.

At Portneuf Game Reserve you can stay in very well equipped, heated cabins and go skating, tobogganing, cross country skiing and ice fishing. At the Réserve faunique des Laurentides, winter cabins with all amenities can also be rented in the Pékan, Lac à Noël and Devlin sectors. Several activities are also available. These are just two examples of what awaits you in several Sépaq network establishments. To learn more, visit www.sepaq.com and the websites of the various reserves to find what best suits your needs.

ZECS AND MORE

In the Zecs net, several areas offer you the opportunity to practice ice fishing for one or more days. The best way to discover them is to visit the website www.reseauzec.comv under the Fishing tab. You will find out the names of the participating zecs.

If you want to go ice fishing in town, you have two options in Quebec.

The Plein Air Faune Group has decided to offer ice fishing again this winter from Thursday to Sunday in their village at the outdoor base Sainte-Foy. Until March 12th you can go there and fish for speckled trout and several other species such as perch and yellow perch. Next March 4th is Hooké Day and several activities are planned during Spring Break.

Fishing guides are happy to introduce you to the activity. Gear rental includes everything you need for a great day. The fishing license is not required. You must reserve online at www.bpasf.com. The Village Nordik in the Old Port takes place in its seventh edition. Until next March 12, fishing is possible on Fridays from 1pm to 5pm, Saturdays from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm and Sundays from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm. Various activities take place on site, including Tropical Winter, an activity organized by the Association des gens d’affaires du Vieux-Port de Québec. To find out all about this great fishing opportunity, costs and services visit www.villagenordik.com/forfaits.
