Biden on the 2024 Candidacy: Too Busy for the Election Campaign

US President Joe Biden has once again made it clear that he wants to run again in the 2024 presidential election. “My intention (…) air yesterday. “But there are many other things I have to do in the near future before starting the campaign.” So now is not the time for a “mature” campaign, the 80-year-old said.

The Democrat has repeatedly signaled in the past that he would like to run for a second term. However, so far there has been no official announcement. Given his advanced age, however, even within Biden’s own party there are reservations about whether he would be the best candidate. Biden would turn 81 in the next presidential election in 2024, 82 at the start of a second term and 86 at the end.

Should Biden officially enter the race for the White House, he is unlikely to face any significant competition from Democrats. The prominent candidates for the Republican presidential nomination so far have been former President Donald Trump and former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.
