Alice has a sensitive case to deal with: someone wants to report possible sexual assault, but the victim doesn’t want to report it. Will the GICCS be able to shed light on this story?

In most cases, when a crime is committed, the police will initiate an investigation. They conduct interrogations, conduct field research, and do many other things. But the GICCS comes into a case that forces it to deviate from usual procedures.
“A cabaret host visits the crew and tells them he believes one of his friends, Pascal, has been the victim of sexual assault. However, he failed to persuade him to press charges or even admit that he had been assaulted. Pascal is a drag queen whose stage name is Kelly Idol. On stage,
Kelly has fun, but in life Pascal is more discreet and doesn’t like making waves,” say Annabelle Poisson and Pierre-Marc Drouin, the writers of Reasonable Doubt Season 2.
A closed environment
This new story takes place amid drag queens. “Some of them were biased and had bad experiences in the past; They are therefore reluctant to talk to the police,” the authors point out. However, discussion is the only possible option for Alice, Fred, and Charline to understand what happened.
“The only thing investigators can do is ask the alleged victim’s permission to open a file and gather testimony and information if they decide to press charges.” It’s something that is done, but in reality it’s quite rare because the police already have a lot of complaints to deal with and don’t have time for this kind of work,” add Annabelle Poisson and Pierre-Marc Drouin. However, Alice doesn’t want to miss anything and the team decides to devote a few hours to this case.

An unwanted collaboration
By conducting their investigation, informal as it is, Alice and Fred incur the wrath of Dauphinais, a local cop who dislikes outside colleagues trespassing on his territory. “It’s his neighborhood. He knows everyone and wants to know everything that goes on there. He’s extremely uncomfortable. The former detective sergeant was fired and works as a patrolman. Fred knows him and hates him,” say the authors.
However, Dauphinais could be an asset to the investigation. Will he help Alice, Fred and Charline or will he make it harder for them? GICCS investigators cannot operate on guesswork alone. However, when it comes time to decide whether to proceed or drop the case, new elements will tip the scales. On a more personal level, Fred is still trying to figure out why Alice is so secretive. He can’t let go of the piece and was able to partially unravel the mystery surrounding his colleague.
The latest poll
The second season of Reasonable Doubt is coming to an end. In the next few episodes, the members of the GICCS will undertake a new investigation that will take them into uncharted territory. “GICCS is called upon to help dismantle a network of attackers. It’s a very tough story, probably the most terrifying of the two seasons,” announce Annabelle Poisson and Pierre-Marc Drouin.
