Wes Bentley is addressing reports of behind-the-scenes drama surrounding his Paramount Network series Yellowstone.
Bentley, who appears as Jamie Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s ranch-focused hit, spoke to Entertainment Weekly in an interview published online Saturday. During the call, he explained that he wasn’t directly involved in any of the discussions – which are said to involve his co-star Kevin Costner’s schedule – but that he hoped everything would be worked out.

“The news that has come out recently about the show is, you know, it’s above my pay grade,” Bentley said. “Different people make decisions. I know they’re still working on it, I’m told – working to work things out with everyone to make sure we shoot.”
He continued: “And I’m confident that we will do that. We always have before. I think it’s probably a little drama about nothing.”
Earlier this month, Costner was the focus of reports from anonymous sources that claimed the actor, who portrays patriarch John Dutton, refused to work for more than a week on the second half of Yellowstone’s fifth season, which ended this week summer should start. According to insiders, he has been concentrating on his western film Horizon, which is currently in the making.
Sources previously told that it seems increasingly unlikely that the show will start filming for the new episodes in March as planned. There’s a chance that television’s most-watched drama could end earlier than planned, although sources claimed that Costner’s departure wouldn’t prompt the show to end immediately.
For his part, Costner shared a video on Feb. 13 of himself unwrapping his Golden Globe after being unable to attend last month’s ceremony due to the weather. The actor didn’t mention Yellowstone or Sheridan in the recording.
