Pennsylvania Chick-fil-A sets new rules after rowdy teens wreak havoc: ‘We’re a family-friendly restaurant’

A Pennsylvania Chick-fil-A restaurant warned unaccompanied minors would no longer be allowed to dine at their eatery after unruly “kids and teens” continued to cause disruption.

A chick-fil-A from Royersford, Pennsylvania shared that the new policy was sparked by rowdy minors who disregarded staff and vandalized their facility after being dropped off by parents over the weekend.

“While we love being a community restaurant and serving guests of all ages, there are a few issues that need to be addressed,” the Facebook post explained, before naming specific “unacceptable behaviors” employees have had to address.

Some children and teens engaged in loud conversations using “a lot of explicit language”, verbally abused and taunted employees, vandalized property, stole decor and walked through drive-thru lanes, the Post claimed.

“We are a family-friendly restaurant where this will not be tolerated,” the Chick-fil-A outlet warned.

“As you can imagine, this is not a pleasant experience,” the post continued. “We want to offer our guests and our employees a comfortable and safe environment and also protect our building. Therefore we cannot allow this. Therefore, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult to eat in our restaurant,” the restaurant explained.

Unaccompanied minors could still buy groceries, the branch said, but would have to take them with them.

The store further apologized to the well-behaved teenagers affected by this rule, saying they did not hold parents responsible for their children’s behavior but could no longer tolerate it in their store.

“Parents, we don’t blame you. Children and young people learn to find their way in the world unsupervised and often cross borders. We just can’t let them push those limits in our restaurant anymore. We encourage you to talk to your children and ask about behaviors they’ve seen and may have participated in,” she continued.

The post was shared on Twitter by user Megan Brock.

She commented on the post, “You know a culture is in serious decline when a local chick-fil-a has to ask parents to require their children to behave in a way that is consistent with basic decency is required in a functioning society. This reads like a homily on the fall of western civilization.”
