Patrick Kane has to be patient

It’s an open secret that forward Patrick Kane will be a member of the New York Rangers on March 3, the National Hockey League (NHL) trading deadline.

The star player is currently at home after leaving the Chicago Blackhawks entourage for a few days.

According to the TSN network, Kane is staying at home a little longer because an exchange between the “Hawks” and the “Blueshirts” is not scheduled to take place until next Wednesday.

The reason for this would be the salary cap. The longer the Rangers wait before they can get their hands on Kane, the less impact it will have on their payroll.

Fourth Period hockey expert Dave Pagnotta also said that the Rangers and Blackhawks already have an agreement and are just waiting for it to work out financially.

Kane scored 16 goals and provided 29 assists for 45 points in 54 games. This season he signs an eight-year contract that has brought him $10.5 million annually.

The 34-year-old winger was drafted by the Blackhawks with the first-ever pick of the 2007 auction. In 1,161 career NHL games, Kane has 446 goals and 779 assists for 1,225 points.
