Jack Johnson back with the Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche brought back defenseman Jack Johnson in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

In return, the “Hawks” got full-back Andreas Englund.

Johnson wore the colors of the “Avs” in 2021-2022 and won the Stanley Cup with the Denver lineup. He joined the organization last August as a free agent from Illinois. In 58 games with the Blackhawks, the 36-year veteran had four assists and maintained a -25 differential.

The third overall pick of the 2005 draft played 1,082 games in the National League. He also played for the Los Angeles Kings, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers.

For his part, Englund is 27 years old and has an experience of 69 meetings at the Bettman Circuit. He played 36 games this season and had three assists for the Avalanche.
