The administration of Social Security (SSA) is preparing to send out the increased monthly checks for the month of March this year 2023. Each month, the SSA sends money to retirees, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients, and other disability and survivor benefits.
This year, Social Security payments are higher than in 2022 thanks to the increased cost of living adjustment (COLA). We’ll let you know how much they’ve increased and the shipping dates of the March payments.

With the 8.7% increase in COLA Average annuity payments will increase to about $1,827. On the other hand, the median payments for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients are $656.
These monthly amounts are approximate only, as SSA calculates benefits individually each year based on the Primary Insurance Amount (PIA) and not actual benefit.

March Social Security Payment Dates: Who Collects Up To $1,827?
The SSI receiver receive their payments First days of each month. who began to receive theirs Social Security payments prior to May 1997 receive their benefits on the 3rd of each month. The remainder of the Social Security checks will be mailed according to Recipient’s birthday:
- On the second Wednesday of the month, the SSA sends payments to retirees with birth dates between the 1st and 10th.
- Money is sent on the third Wednesday of the month for beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th.
- On the fourth Wednesday of each month, payments are sent for those born between the 21st and 31st.
These are the Exact dates for sending payments in March 2023:
- March 1: SSI receiver
- March 3: Payees who received their payments before May 1997
- March 8: Beneficiaries with a birth date between 1 and 10
- March 15: Beneficiaries with a birth date between 11 and 20
- March 22nd: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between March 21st and 31st
- March 31: SSI receiver
Two SSI payments will be sent in March, the one that corresponds to the month and the advance payment for April.
