Founded in February 2013, SockMonkey Studios is a British video games developer founded by Teesside University graduates Bob Makin and Darren Cuthbert in Middlesbrough, North East England.
This transaction makes SockMonkey Behavior’s first European investment and will be renamed Behavior UK – North following the acquisition. The studio will be a valuable partner for Behavior’s services division, which provides development services to clients such as Microsoft, Sony, EA, Warner, Netflix, and Take-Two, among others.
The SockMonkey team of 45 works on co-development and full development projects across all platforms and has won awards including being named to Gamesindustry.biz’ ‘Best Places to Work’ list in 2022. UK – North will grow Focus exclusively on projects from Behavior’s client list of big, world-renowned names in the gaming industry.
This year, Behavior Interactive Studio celebrates its 30th anniversary and now employs more than 1,200 full-time employees worldwide.
Behavior enjoyed immense success with its original multiplayer action-horror game Dead by Daylight™ and will be releasing its next big original game Meet Your Maker™ on April 4th, 2023.
