In a video, the former world heavyweight champion and brother of the mayor of Kiev appears as the commander of one of the vehicles supplied by Germany

The video that was depopulated on Twitter

A 53-second video posted to Twitter by the youngest of the Klitschko brothers went viral, in which he drives one of the four Leopard 2 tanks that the German Defense Ministry has supplied to Ukrainian troops, and which are in addition to the 14 that have already been given in the last few months.

“Year of Great Suffering”

Wladimir Kliyschko picked them up personally together with Vitaly and the two ex-champions also practiced driving at the Bundeswehr training center in Münster. In the video, Wladimir thanks Germany for giving him this “cat, which a year ago I never thought I would drive. A year of war has passed in Ukraine, a year of enormous suffering – he explains former boxers – but also a time when our willpower has been strengthened, and it is as powerful as this tank. Thanks to the free world for what it has done for the Ukrainians. Long live Ukraine, long live our heroes” .

The attack on the CIO

Last week, the 1996 Atlanta Olympic super heavyweight champion had very harsh words against the IOC and its President Thomas Bach regarding the possibility of athletes from Russia and Belarus participating as “neutrals” at the Paris 2024 Games. Klitschko had accused Bach of “no longer representing the Olympic values but those of the aggressor,” warning that allowing Russians and Belarusians to enter the next Olympics would “meant to destroy the principles that animate the Games.”
