Magic Vs Honor reveals the price and European release date

Magic Vs: Honor reveals the price and European release date of its foldable smartphone

The Honor Magic Vs is not new in that we have already presented it to you (here) and held it in our hands (there). But Honor used its event at MWC 2023 to unveil its Magic 5 Pro, but also to indicate a release date and European price for its foldable smartphone, the Magic Vs.

The advanced mechanics of the Honor Magic Vs

As we pointed out during our hands-on test, the Magic Vs benefits from a state-of-the-art hinge, which has grown to 4 components from 92 components on the previous generation. Concretely, this allows the smartphone to be folded in half without leaving a gap between the two parts of the screen. A hinge that is therefore more advanced than the one Samsung uses on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It is designed to fold (un)fold 400,000 times, or about 110 times a day for 10 years. What else is there to see…

This new hinge means the smartphone is thinner than its Korean competitor when folded: 12.9mm thick versus 15.8mm for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The rest of the spec sheet, which you’ll find below, is that of a high-end Smartphone from the end of 2022, the period in which the product was launched in China.

Price and European release date of the Honor Magic Vs

All that was missing was a release date and a European price for Honor’s latest folding smartphone. The brand used the MWC 2023 for this. The Magic Vs will appear in the first half of 2023 at the recommended price of 1,599 euros in the only available version with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

This is exactly the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 in its version with 12 GB of RAM but “only” 256 GB of storage. With its design and more adept design, Honor may have a card against Samsung, which remains the undisputed leader in the small foldable smartphone market.
