Windows 11, Microsoft offers the upgrade for non-eligible Windows 10 PCs! – GinjFo

Switching from Windows 10 to Windows 11 during the installation process (OOBE)

The launch of Windows 11 did not go unnoticed. It came with a demanding minimum system requirement or an indication of making hundreds of millions of computers incompatible.

Controversy aside, this approach has blocked the “durability” of many computers. Curiously, last year the upgrade appeared on normally incompatible devices, despite Microsoft’s clarification that computers that didn’t meet the system requirements would stay on Windows 10.

A few days ago, a watermark appeared on the desktop of unauthorized Windows 11 PCs. At the same time, the upgrade was offered again for non-compatible PCs. According to Redmond, it was an accident. In addition, the affected computers were not authorized to complete the installation of the operating system. The problem has been solved. That explains the company

Some non-eligible Windows 10 and Windows 11 21H2 devices were incorrectly offered an upgrade to Windows 11. These unauthorized devices did not meet the minimum system requirements to run Windows 11. Devices experiencing this issue were unable to complete the upgrade installation process. This issue was identified on February 23, 2023 and fixed on the same day.

Microsoft recommends users to stick with Windows 10 if their devices don’t meet the system requirements. Windows 10 remains relevant. Maintenance is guaranteed until at least October 2025.
