‘That ’70s Show’ spin-off ‘That ’90s Show’ on Netflix to reunite most of the leads from the original series

Most of the cast of That ’70s Show are returning to Netflix for That ’90s Show, Variety has learned.

Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Wilmer Valderrama will all guest-star in the spinoff series, reprising their characters from the original series. The only leading man not to return is Danny Masterson, who played Hyde, as he prepares to face trial over multiple sexual assault allegations.

As previously announced, Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp will star in That ’90s Show, taking on the roles of Red and Kitty Forman. They are joined by new cast members Ashley Aufderheide, Callie Haverda, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos.

In the new series, it’s 1995 and Leia Forman (Haverda), the daughter of Eric (Grace) and Donna (Prepon), is visiting her grandparents over the summer, where they are living under the watchful eye of a new generation of Point Place children meets Kitty and Red’s stern look.

The multi-cam comedy has landed a 10-episode order on Netflix. Original series creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner and their daughter Lindsey Turner are on board as writers and executive producers, while That 70’s Show alumnus Gregg Mettler serves as executive producer and showrunner, as well as writing. Smith and Rupp will serve as executive producers in addition to starring. Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner of The Carsey-Werner Company, who served as executive producers on the original show, will also executive produce the sequel. That ’70s Show premiered on Fox in 1998 and ran for eight seasons and 200 episodes.
