Caity Lotz Responds to DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Cancellation: It Has Been A Blast

The Black Canary, aka actress Caity Lotz, has finally spoken out about the cancellation of The CW’s long-running DC series Legends of Tomorrow ahead of its eighth season.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has had a number of cast changes over the years. Lotz, who played Sara Lance/White Canary, was the only original cast member left over from the first season. The character first appeared as Black Canary in Arrow in October 2013 until its spin-off in Legends, which ended in January 2016.

Lotz was late in responding to news of the cancellation as she had been deeply involved in lobbying in Washington, DC at The Creative Coalition for National Endowment for the Art Funding. .

“I’m going to miss it so much,” she said in a series of Instagram Story videos. “I will miss our amazing cast and crew. But at the same time, I acknowledge how lucky I’ve been to play Sara Lance for so long. Working on Legends has been fantastic. It was such a journey and I am so infinitely grateful for it and for you. So thank you. To all the Legends of Tomorrow fans out there, we love you so much. And it was a great time.”

While The CW is known for giving a proper farewell to its longer-running series, this season of Legends ended on a cliffhanger. However, sources pointed out that the characters could easily populate other series in the DC Arrowverse, so you might see one or two of them in other shows.

Co-showrunner Keto Shimizu announced the news on Twitter. “It was an incredible run. However, CW has let us know there will be no Season 8… We are heartbroken but also infinitely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew and writers have done to make the little show that was possible,” she wrote .

Based on the DC characters, the series stars Caity Lotz, Olivia Swann, Lisseth Chavez, Adam Tsekhman, Tala Ashe, Shayan Sobhian and Amy Pemberton.
