Kayla Lemieux – the Canadian high school teacher who has gone viral for wearing gigantic breasts in class – has been put on leave after The Post revealed she doesn’t always don the Z-cup prosthetics outside of school.

During a recent interview with The Post, Lemieux flatly denied wearing fake breasts.

“I don’t wear breast prostheses. These are real. My condition is classified as gigantomastia, which can also be referred to as macromastia or breast hypertrophy,” she said, although she denied having any proof of the condition.

The saga has made international headlines, raising questions about who Lemieux is and how she got caught in the firestorm.

Who is Lemieux?

The 39-year-old began teaching at Oakville Trafalgar High School in Ontario in September 2022 and quickly sparked controversy when photos and videos of her unusual way of dressing circulated.

Lemieux has denied wearing prosthetics, saying she is “not a transgender person” but was born intersex.

Lemieux never received a formal diagnosis of her condition. Nick Kozak, Canadian high school teacher Kayla Lemieux in the Toronto school store classroom.

She told the Post that her alleged gigantomastia is rare.

“It very rarely affects women, but in my case I think – and my doctor thinks – because I also have XX chromosomes it has something to do with it, and hormone sensitivity to estrogen caused it,” Lemieux said.

However, the teacher – who wore women’s clothing, a blonde wig, makeup and her huge breasts when interviewed – admitted she was never officially diagnosed and could not provide any proof.

Lemieux also denied being the person photographed by The Post driving Lemieux’s car and then waking up in breastless men’s clothing, who had been identified by a neighbor as the teacher mired in controversy.

She said she is “in transition” after starting hormone replacement therapy in 2021.

“I identify as a woman. Feminine. She/she,” Lemieux told the Post. “All my life I have identified as a man. I looked like a man. When I decided to embrace that other side of myself around the age of about 39, it showed.”

Lemieux walks through the school corridors with crutches.

Lemieux explained that men are born with XY chromosomes and women with XX chromosomes.

“Intersex people can have a mix of these two different sets of chromosomes. It may be something they don’t even know about. It can show up in other physical features at birth, so it can be more or less obvious depending on the individual,” Lemieux said.

Facebook images from five years ago appear to show Lemiuex with a full beard. Other pictures show the teacher posing in muscle cars.

Effects of the controversy on the school

Oakville Trafalgar High School, school officials and Lemieux have been subjected to bomb and gun threats, while students have reportedly been threatened with suspension if they pick up the teacher on school property.

“For some of the kids it’s just become a part of their day because there have been so many bomb threats, which in itself is terrifying,” parent Celina Close told The Post.

Several disgruntled parents asked the Halton County School Board to introduce a dress code for teachers, but the Board initially refused over concerns it violated Ontario’s human rights code.

In January, the school board agreed to develop a policy requiring educators to maintain a “proper and professional” appearance.

Lemieux’s current status

The Halton School District has confirmed that Lemieux was placed on paid leave on Tuesday.

“Although the teacher does not currently have an active assignment, he remains employed with the (Halton District School Board),” district representative Heather Francey told a school assembly, according to the Toronto Sun.

Education Secretary Stephen Lecce and Halton Region MPs Natalie Pierre, Stephen Crawford and Effie Triantafilopoulos have reportedly torn up the board for “waiving its responsibilities by not putting the interests and safety of students first “.

The board has largely remained quiet over Lemieux amid the breast brouhaha.
