Saints’ Alvin Kamara pleads not guilty to battery charges from Vegas nightclub brawl – Fox News

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara pleaded not guilty in court today to charges of battery charges from an alleged Las Vegas nightclub that was hit last year.

Kamara was charged with conspiracy to cause physical harm, which is a misdemeanor in Nevada, and aggravated assault, which is a felony.

Kamara’s court date has been set for July 31 at 10 am. If found guilty, Kamara is likely to be disciplined by the NFL during the 2023 season.

Cincinnati Bengals defense attorney Chris Lammons was also in court Thursday to face battery charging charges in the same incident.

Darnell Green, the victim, is seeking $10 million in the lawsuit he filed last October alleging that Kamara, Lammons and two others beat him at Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell in Las Vegas.

The lawsuit states that Kamara kicked his chest on the ground, as well as his legs and face. The police report stated that Greene was unconscious at one point and that he suffered an orbital fracture in one of his eyes.

Kamara’s lawyers claim her client acted in self-defense.

“The state avoided a contested preliminary hearing by charging Mr. Kamara,” his lawyers said in a statement. “He intends to vigorously combat the allegations at trial as he was defending himself and others at the time of the incident.”

Kamara was in town for the 2022 Pro Bowl, to which he was selected following his 2021 season. He was arrested after attending the game.

However, the NFL did not penalize Kamara last season because the legal battle did not last.
