Popular Cuban singer Dianelys Alfonso Cartaya, better known in the artistic world as The Goddess of Cuba, burst into tears during an interview on the Miami Talk program.
The artist visited the room where, among others, the Cuban actress Zajaris Fernández took the moment to thank La Diosa for raising her voice in Cuba and denouncing the regime.
“You are not a very happy person. You are an excellent person (…) You were a woman who above all remained true to herself. You have sown a lot of love and that is what you reap,” Zajaris said.
In the same vein, the Cuban comedian also applauded La Diosa for “fighting the caged lion.”
“I wanted to thank you on behalf of all Cubans for raising your voice, for never silencing you, for all the artists like you who are never given a chance. For all the people who are very talented and for whom doors don’t open,” he emphasized.
“Thank you, because I think that of all the artists living in Cuba, you were the one with the biggest drums,” Zajaris stressed, not imagining that this would move La Diosa to tears.
After saying this, the performer of “The 40 Pound Papaya” broke down in tears and explained that nobody had spoken to her like that.
“You are the only person who has spoken to me like that,” he replied to Zajaris, pointing out that in Cuba he suffered not only from censorship but also from the cruelty of the Cuban public, which has no idea “What I really do lost them all. this year”.
“I saw all the artists working and couldn’t work,” emphasized La Diosa de Cuba. “I saw all the artists traveling and couldn’t travel. I saw all things doing, moving forward as I grew stronger. But really, I was anchored,” she revealed.
“You must have much courage to do what I have done, much love for your neighbor. And I don’t regret it, I would do it a thousand times, for them, for those from there and here who had to work very hard to start from scratch,” emphasized the artist, who arrived in the United States a few weeks ago.
The goddess traveled to Miami accompanied by her husband and children thanks to the humanitarian parole announced by the Biden administration last January.
A few days later, the singer underwent general cosmetic surgery to restore her figure.
“I don’t have the best face because I’m inflamed, but that’s normal. I wanted to tell everyone I’m fine and thank those who were concerned,” he said hours after the procedure.
“I hope more or less to be presentable for all of you in a month and have a better image of what the idea was and be able to do my first concert,” he added.
“I’m crazy that this moment has come. I wanted to do it like this. I didn’t want to be uncomfortable with my big belly and look ugly on stage,” she said.
“I underwent this to improve my image, which is important. This anxiety I should have improved. I wasn’t feeling well either, I was even short of breath,” he said.
