King Charles’ decision to evict Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage and move in Prince Andrew was made “in partnership” with Prince William, a source told The Daily Beast.

The source, a friend of King Charles and Camilla and extended family, told The Daily Beast: “Charles is not making these decisions in isolation. He has the support of his son and heir and works in partnership with him. They are one and closer than ever.”

The decision to evict Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage has also put more focus on the uncertainty surrounding their attendance at Charles’ coronation, which is due to take place in just over two months.

The Daily Beast understands that Harry and Meghan are still being invited to the coronation and that family and officials still assume they will be there.

But Harry suggested in an interview promoting his book that he would only take part if he received an apology for the way he and Meghan were treated by family. Friends of the royals have mocked the suggestion, saying the royals firmly believe they have nothing to apologize for.

The friend repeated this and said: “It is clearly up to you whether you accept the invitation. Plans are made on the basis that they will.”

When asked where the Sussexes would be staying if they did come as their house is being packed up and will have to be handed over immediately after the coronation and is therefore unlikely to be habitable, the friend said safe arrangements would be made for the couple “of course”. be made if they wanted to come.

However, there is no doubt that the revelation that the couple will effectively be evicted from the British royal estate (they could of course buy property in the UK as private individuals if they wished, but it wouldn’t be a blast in the middle of Windsor Great Park) puts the question of her participation in the coronation in a completely different light.

“William won’t shed a tear if Harry doesn’t make it. He feels completely betrayed by Harry. Relationships have never been so bad and he hates him for what he did to the family in the books and interviews.”

Another source, an old friend of William and Harry’s who is no longer in touch with Harry, told The Daily Beast: “William won’t shed a tear if Harry doesn’t make it. He feels completely betrayed by Harry. Relationships have never been so bad and he hates him for what he did to the family in the books and interviews. He will support whatever decision his father makes, but it’s no secret that he would prefer it if he weren’t there or, in fact, never set foot in England again.”

Asked whether King Charles’ comments in his accession address, in which he said he wanted to express his love for Harry and Meghan “as they continue to build their lives abroad”, could now be seen as a command to the couple, to avoid the UK. The friend said, “You’d think they’d get the hint by now.”

The friend said they had no idea if William and Kate would eventually move into the Royal Lodge, as has been rumored in some quarters, although a palace source told The Daily Beast that William and Kate are staying at their current accommodation, Adelaide Cottage , “Very Happy”, a four bedroom house on the Windsor Estate. It has also been speculated that the Waleses themselves might move into Windsor Castle.

Whether or not it ultimately affects the Waleses, Charles’ move to evict the Sussexes from Frogmore Cottage was undoubtedly a major blow to the couple, who issued an official comment confirming they were prompted to vacate the property Just hours after reporter Omid Scobie, Harry and Meghan’s biographer who is known for his excellent contacts within the Sussex organization and has at times acted as the couple’s quasi-spokesperson, wrote in a Yahoo! Article that the couple were “appalled” at the move to evict them from the property.

“It all feels very final and like cruel punishment.”

“It all feels very final and like cruel punishment,” a friend of the couple told Scobie. “It’s like [the family] want to take her out of the picture forever.”

The source, who likely accurately reflected the couple’s state of mind given Scobie’s close relationship with the Sussexes, added: “This isn’t just a random rental they’re keeping for convenience. Every drawer is full, every cupboard is packed… It’s a real family home.”

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the story to The Daily Beast or any other outlet, as insiders try to paint it as an internal family matter. Prince William’s office said they did not wish to comment and the Sussex camp did not respond to emails seeking further comment.

However, The Daily Beast understands that the king is concerned about the appearance of extravagance as a cost of living crisis ravages Britain.

“It doesn’t look good when a house is empty, so Harry and Meghan can fit it in a blue moon for once.”

— Friend of King Charles

A friend of the king told The Daily Beast this week: “Charles has made it clear that he wants to reduce the size of the royal estate. It doesn’t look good when a house is empty so Harry and Meghan find space in it every few years.”

Charles’ dramatic move to cut his son off from his UK residence will go a long way in dispelling the perception that Charles was weak or lenient towards Harry. To make the gist even clearer, it is said that Charles launched a case against the couple the day after Harry’s memoir Spare was published.

This decision will be a catalyst for the collapse, hastening what looks like a now inevitable complete severing of cordial ties between the two sides.

As a source told The Sun: “Charles wanted to start spending Harry and Meghan and put Andrew to bed after his coronation. The situation has dragged on for far too long and he wanted to act decisively and quickly.”

The royals have always preferred to speak with actions rather than words.

With this action, Charles is letting Harry and the world know that for whatever reason – be it a lack of confidence, fear of having an enemy chronicler at the heart of the royal estate, or simply a matter of money as some in his camp have already claimed – he just doesn’t want Harry around anymore.

By anyone’s standards, reaching the point where you throw your own child out of family land is a significant milestone. But it’s a fitting sign of the astounding level of bitterness that has paved the path of resentment and division that Harry and his family continue to walk.
