5:39 p.m .: Activist Ales Bialiatski, co-winner of the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize, has been sentenced to ten years in prison in Belarus. In a press release, the Nobel Committee denounced a “politically motivated” conviction. “The verdict shows that the current regime is using all means to repress its opponents,” wrote Berit Reiss-Andersen, chair of the Norwegian committee.
