Ten years after its founding, Chávez lives on

Cuba’s best friend, commander Hugo Chávez Frías, was reminded yesterday, ten years later, not of his physical disappearance but of his seeding in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Fidel Castro Center hosted the evening in which the brotherhood between the Commanders-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution and the Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian Revolution ran the red thread of emotions.

To weave these rich lives for the emancipation of peoples better than the children of La Colmenita, supported by an audiovisual narrative that covers part of this unity of ideas that imperialism fears so much that it has included in an axis of the evil corseted .

Chávez is more relevant than ever, he is present and in the future in the struggles we are fighting for the sovereignty of our countries, said Edwin Díaz Muzaly, charge d’affaires of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Cuba. Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples, declared that he combined the skills of a leader, heir to an emancipatory thought and dreamer of a united and integrated America.

Politburo member Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Secretary General of the CTC, Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Deputy Prime Minister, and Commander of the Rebel Army José Ramón Machado Ventura shared with those present the tribute to the Venezuelan leader.

From yesterday to Sunday, more than 140 intellectuals, activists and political and social leaders from around 50 countries will meet in Caracas for the World Meeting for the Validity of Commander Chávez’s Bolivarian Thought in the 21st Century.

The debates on the first day focused on participatory, protagonist and people’s democracy; the media dictatorship in the digital age; the multifaceted war; imperialist persecution and building a multipolar world.

It turned out that it is urgent for Latin Americans to meet, hug and help each other, because only through solidarity, integration and the defense of social projects can we guarantee a free world as Chávez imagined it.
