According to the Russian chancellor, the country would try to prevent conflict; made the statement in New Delhi
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday (March 3, 2023) that Russia did not start the war in Ukraine and that the conflict was waged against them. The statement during the Raisina Dialogue international conference in New Delhi, India, elicited laughter from the audience.
Lavrov had been asked by an audience member how the war was affecting Russia’s energy strategy and how Asia could benefit, as well as India’s position on the issue. Here is Lavror’s answer: “The war that we are [Rússia] it was thrown at us trying to stop it.”

Sergey Lavrov at the G20
During the G20 summit in New Delhi, Lavrov met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira shortly before the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting on Wednesday (March 1) and announced that he would come to Brazil in the 2nd 14 days of April , according to Itamaraty.
Sergei Lavrov also met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday (March 2). It was the first facetoface meeting between the authorities since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.
Blinken and Lavrov talked for almost 10 minutes. At the meeting, the US Secretary of State said Russia should reverse its decision not to participate in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, known as the Novo Start.
